Starting 7 May 2020 the GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig is open again regularly from 10 to 18 (except Mondays). Please note that for the time being only the special exhibition "Scenes of life" is on display.

Fantastic Animals

Pokémon, J.K. Rowlings Fantastic Beasts, or the well-known monster "Grüffelo": many of these strange creatures we know from books, films and computer games originate from old tales and religious tradition. The exhibition takes you on a journey to the roots of those animals and creatures that have found a new haven in today's pop culture.
