Omar Ba, a young Senegalese, is indefinitely trapped in the in-between space of the Moroccan coastal town of Tangier. In his role as an artist, Malik Nejmi approached him and his friends from the Boukhalef neighborhood and asked them to film the techniques of escape using their phones. Before the dangerous journey over the Strait of Gibraltar commences, many people repeat personal rituals to prepare themselves for what awaits them upon crossing the sea. The videos show the daily and sometimes surreal life in transit and spotlight the travelers in their important role as creators of new myths. In the installation, their stories and the related objects are presented as an imaginary museum. As a subject, the body breaks through the metaphysical limits of travel here, thereby lending art itself a new function: it leads to the sense of displacement, to an art of migration. In it, the places and stories of Malik Nejmi and Omar Ba weave together a "Musuem of eternity".
